Men’s Lacrosse Readies for Busy Weekend Featuring Third Annual Burrito Bowl and Give Back with Harlem Lacrosse

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse has another busy weekend ahead as it is set to host its third annual Burrito Bowl Scrimmage and volunteer at the Harlem Lacrosse Boston Chumash Tournament on Friday and Saturday. These events are two more in the team's Fall Experience schedule, that continued last weekend with its trip to Philadelphia for its scrimmage weekend against Maryland and Lehigh.

The third annual HLX Burrito Bowl scrimmage will be played this Friday night at 5:30 PM at Harvard Stadium. The high-intensity, energetic scrimmage will feature two groups of Harvard lacrosse student-athletes playing against each other. The teams – picked by groups of seniors that are determined by the coaches – will compete for its choice of burritos and bragging rights.

In conjunction with the event, Harvard lacrosse will also be raising money for Team IMPACT, an organization that matches children facing serious illness and disabilities with college sports teams, creating a long term, life changing experience for everyone involved. The team has worked closely with Team IMPACT – and their new teammate, Braxton - over the past three seasons and is excited to continue its partnership with the organization. The HLX goal is to raise $15,000 for Team IMPACT by the end of the day on Friday.

On Saturday, the Crimson will makes its way out to Dorchester to volunteer at the annual Harlem Lacrosse Chumash Tournament. HLX will support the organization at the tournament by coaching teams of youth players during the tournament and walking them through instruction during a practice period after the event has concluded.

The tournament brings together local youth players from various suburban communities and the Harlem Middle School Student-Athletes for a day of lacrosse, competition and community building.

Once this weekend has concluded, Harvard lacrosse will have just one more event remaining on its Fall schedule. The final event of the HLX Fall Experience – The BBQ Bowl – will take place on Friday, November 10. More information on the team's final scrimmage of the Fall
