CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Heavyweight Rowing opened its 2023-24 campaign on Saturday at the Head of the Charles Regatta and posted a pair of top-10 performances in the Club Eight race.
 
The Crimson A-boat, consisting of 
Cate Engles (cox), 
Ryan Cornelius (1), 
Ryan Link (2), 
Lachlan Roach (3), 
Charles Richards (4), 
Fergus Ritchie (5), 
Owen Finnerty (6), 
George Burney (7) and 
Benjamin Zeisberg (8), finished with a time of 14:16.722. That performance was good for second place behind Brown's A-entry (14:13.412) and ahead of Navy (14:17.808).
 
Harvard's second boat, meanwhile, recorded the 10
th-fastest time in the field, clocking in at 14:53.896.
 
Associate head coach Pat Lapage '12, meanwhile, rowed from the one seat for Ex Nemo in the Men's Master Fours [40+]. The boat finished in second place (16:50.971) behind Club Nautico de San Juan (16:41.654).
 
The Crimson returns to the Charles River on Sunday at 1:57 p.m., for the Championship Eight race. Harvard will again have two boats compete.
