Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Harvard Women's Volleyball Team (11-3, 4-1 in Ivy) won against the Penn Quakers at home on Saturday night, winning in three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-18.
Set one started off hot for the Crimson. Carrying its momentum from Friday night, Harvard came out the gates aggressive. The Crimson started out the set with an early 8-3 lead. Harvard continued its dominance, hitting an impressive .406 compared to Penn's .121. Harvard won set one, 25-15.
Crimson fell behind early in set two after a few small mistakes made. Penn got up to a 4-8 lead, yet Harvard stayed in the fight, bringing the score back to a one point game, 16-17. After a Penn timeout was called, it was all Harvard from there. A few big blocks from the Crimson late in the set helped it push past Penn in the final stand. Harvard totaled six blocks in set two alone. Harvard won set two, 25-21.
Harvard came out determined in the third set. The Crimson got out to an early 7-2 start after some big time kills on the attack. Harvard never looked back and continued its impressive night. Harvard secured the 3-0 sweep in set three, 25-18.
