New Haven, CT – In the third day of the ITA Northeast Regionals, the Crimson recorded another eight wins across singles and doubles play.
In doubles,
Valdemar Pape and
Masato Perera outlasted Daniel Velek and Shaurya Sood (Quinnipiac), 8-7, in their round of 16 match. In the quarterfinals the Crimson duo bested fellow Ivy League foe, Carlos Guerrero Alvarez and Xander Barber (Dartmouth), 8-4, to punch their ticket to the Super Regionals.
For the second day in a row, the Crimson went undefeated in singles play. Pape,
Melchior Delloye,
David Lins, and
Alan Yim all bested their opponents in straight sets. Lins dropped the least number of games by any Crimson player, defeating his opponent 6-4, 6-0.
Marc Ktiri and Perera were both able to lock down their opponents in three sets to advance to the final round of the tournament.
Tomorrow, the Crimson will compete in one final round of singles matches as the six players will look to punch their tickets to the Super Regionals in two weekends.
