CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Bronte-May Brough was named the Northeast Player of the Year, The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced today.
Brough, who was the 2022 Ivy Rookie of the Year was named to the All-Ivy First Team and the Ivy Defensive Player of the year last month. Brough was also recently named to the NFHCA Northeast First Team for her efforts this season.
The sophomore played in 13 games this year and added five goals and two assists for a total of 12 points on the year. Four of Brough's five goals game in back-to-back games after the sophomore scored twice against Syracuse and added another pair of goals against Columbia. Brough earned Ivy Defensive Player of the Week and NFHCA Player of the Week honors, after her two-goal performance against Syracuse. Brough anchored a nationally ranked defense that boasted six shutouts throughout the season and had only let up one goal since Oct. 6 heading into the NCAA tournament.
