PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard women's swimming and diving team won two individual A-finals and captured the 400 medley relay, strengthening its hold on second place after day three of the Ivy League Championships at Princeton.
The Crimson enters the final day of the league meet on Saturday with 794 points, but trails the Tigers and their 1,025 points. Harvard, which entered Friday with three-point cushion on third-place Yale, pushed its lead over the Bulldogs to 25.50 points.
Harvard Highlights
- Anya Mostek swam the second-fastest 100 back in school history when she finished her preliminary heat in 52.92. The NCAA B-cut was the fastest in the 24-person field. For encore, the first-year rallied to capture the Ivy title Friday night, winning the A-final in 52.77. Her championship performance tied the school record, which was originally set by Danielle Lee in 2014. In the B-final, Abby Carr finished ahead of the pack (54.12).
- Samantha Shelton opened the day by swimming the fastest 200 free of any Harvard swimmer this season. The senior's prelim time of 1:47.59 was the second-fastest in the field. As a follow-up, Shelton one-upped her own performance from earlier in the day by winning the A-final in 1:46.13. Addie Rose Bullock, meanwhile, finished in seventh in the A-final, clocking in at 1:48.80. Molly Hamlin took the C-final with a season-best time of 1:47.66.
- Sydney Lu recorded an NCAA B-standard time in the prelims of the 100 back (53.23). Her performance ranked fourth in program history until she finished in second place in the A-final with a school-record time of 52.31. Abby Carr (53.34; NCAA B-standard) and Mandy Brenner (54.53) won the B- and C-finals, respectively.
- Kaia Li (season-best 1:01.78) and Victoria Eisenhauer (1:02.39) took seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the A-final of the 100 breast. Aleksandra Denisenko (1:02.53) and Sophia Zhang (season-best 1:02.12) won the B- and C-finals.
- Mostek, Li, Lu and Shelton combined to win the 400 medley relay and establish a DeNunzio Pool record with a time of 3:35.64, which ranks second in program history.
- Amy Wotovich was the runner-up in the three-meter diving competition. The sophomore earned 287.75 points. Katie Laverty posted the fifth-best score in the field (265.40).
- Grace Yoon finished in fifth place in the B-final of the 400 IM. Her time of 4:21.16 was the top Harvard time in 2022-23. Maggie Buckley, meanwhile, won the C-final with a season-best 4:21.06.

Harvard will conclude action at the Ivy League Championships on Saturday with the prelims set for an 11 a.m. ET start. The finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at DeNunzio Pool. Both sessions will air on ESPN+.
