CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Volleyball used stifling runs in each of the three sets to take down Merrimack College, 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-21), on Wednesday night at Malkin Athletic Center. With the decision, the Crimson improved to 4-4 and snapped the Warriors five-match winning streak. Merrimack, meanwhile, fell to 5-4 on the year.
How it Happened
- The Crimson opened the match on a 4-1 run, but the visitors quickly leveled the score at 4-4. Harvard later asserted itself by scoring five unanswered points to take a 16-9 lead, which later proved pivotal as the hosts captured the first set, 25-20.
- In the second frame, Harvard showed resilience after it started off slow. Merrimack jumped in front, 6-3, and enjoyed a late 17-16 lead. The Crimson, however, overwhelmed the Warriors with a decisive 7-1 run to push ahead, 23-18. Harvard eventually emerged with another 25-20 decision, taking a two-sets-to-none advantage.
- In the decisive third set, Merrimack led, 7-6, but Harvard stormed back with six consecutive points. The Crimson experienced resistance from the Warriors as they fought back to get within two at 19-17. Harvard, however, weathered the storm and eventually earned the 25-21 victory.

- Harvard sweeps the regular-season series with Merrimack. The Crimson defeated the Warriors in North Andover in its second match of 2023.
- Harvard is now 2-0 all-time vs. Merrimack.
- Kade McGovern led all players with 10 kills. The sophomore also added three blocks and a pair of digs.
- Zach Berty had seven kills on 10 swings. He also led all players with four aces and logged two blocks and two digs.
- Trevor Schultz posted a match-high six blocks go to with five kills.
- Logan Shepherd matched Berty with a season-high seven kills.
