Albuquerque, N.M. - Athletes on the Harvard men's and women's track and field teams competed in day one of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet in Albuquerque, N.M. Four Crimson athletes earned Second Team All-America honors with finishes at the meet. Maia Ramsden qualified out of the mile run semifinal to move on to tomorrow's final.
Ramsden was honored with the presentation of the NCAA Elite 90 award as she reported the highest cumulative GPA of any women's competitors at the championship meet.
Tomorrow's events featuring Crimson athletes will start at 6 p.m. EST with Ramsden in the women's mile final. She will then go on to run the 3000m run at 7 p.m. Alexander Kolesnikoff will compete in the men's shot put at 9 p.m. and Graham Blanks will race in the men's 3000m at 10 p.m. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
Harvard Results
- Goudros got the meet started for the Crimson, placing 12th in the nation in the women's pentathlon. She started the event with a new personal best in the 60m hurdles of 8.41 to jump up to number three on the Harvard All-Time list. She went on to clear 1.63m in the high jump, throw 11.27m in the shot put and jump 6.13m to take fourth in her specialty event, the long jump. She ended the pentathlon with another personal best, a 2:17.78 800m run to score 4165 points and take 11th place.
- Ikeji took tenth in the men's weight throw with a throw of 21.92m (71' 11") to start the event, ultimately his best mark of the day.
- Iverson and Blanks ran side by side to finish the men's 5000m run just a second apart, with Iverson taking 12th in 14:18.88 and Blanks taking 13th in 14:19.55.
- Ramsden took fourth in her heat of the mile preliminary round to earn an automatic qualifying spot in tomorrow's final with a time of 4:40.16.
