Harvard Softball Breaks Through Late Tie for 2-1 Win Over Cal Baptist in 7

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Harvard Softball team broke through after a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning to take down the Cal Baptist Lancers 2-1 in the final game of the Lance Up Invite on Sunday, March 12.

How it Happened

Trailing 1-0, the Crimson first put runs on the board in the fourth inning. Harvard got an RBI single from Madi Mays, scoring Lauren Bobowski from third base.

The score stayed at 1-1 until the sixth inning, when the Crimson put runs on the scoreboard once again. Harvard picked up a run on Allison Heffley's one-out solo home run, which brought the Crimson lead to 2-1. Heffley went on to make an instrumental save for the third out at the bottom of the sixth, tagging a runner out at home with the CBU bases loaded. The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the game, as Harvard held on for the win.
