MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Harvard women's swimming and diving duo of
Remi Edvalson and
Elizabeth Miclau qualified for the NCAA Championships in platform diving on Wednesday at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
A junior from San Francisco, California, Miclau secured a spot in the finals after placing fifth during the preliminary rounds with a score of 229.80. Edvalson, meanwhile, finished in sixth place (228.95), well ahead of the 18
th-place cutline.
Once the final 18 divers were set, Miclau and Edvalson set their sights on a top-6 finish to advance to nationals. Edvalson, a native of Saratoga, California, leaped Miclau once the water settled, finishing in fourth place with a score of 481.95. Miclau was steady, staying in her fifth-place position, registering a score of 480.35.
The Crimson platform pairing will join
Nina Janmyr at the NCAA Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee, March 15-18. Janmyr qualified on the 1- and 3-meter boards earlier in the week.
