BOSTON, Mass. - The Harvard Crimson fell in two contests of a doubleheader at Boston University on Tuesday, with scores of 5-4 in an eight-inning matchup and 3-1 in a five-inning game cut short as daylight began to fade.

How it Happened
The Crimson got on the scoreboard first, starting in the second inning. Harvard scored twice, with one run coming across on Kaitlin Lampson's single.
The Crimson lost the lead they built in the second, but got back on the board in the sixth trailing 4-2. Harvard scored twice on Teagan Shaw's two-run homer, which brought the score level at 4-4. Boston University then scored one time over the remaining two innings to break the tie and grab the 5-4 win.
Game Notes
• Junior Anna Reed (5-6) came out of the bullpen for Harvard and went 4.2 innings, giving up two runs, one earned, on four hits, allowing two walks and striking out two.
• In the batter's box, the Crimson were paced by Shaw, who went 2-for-3 on the day with a home run and two RBI. Lampson compiled a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Megan Welsh also contributed for Harvard, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding an RBI.
• Harvard pitchers faced 34 Boston University hitters in the game, allowing 14 ground balls and five fly balls while striking out three.

How it Happened
The Crimson put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the fourth inning. Harvard got an RBI single from Molly Dickerson, scoring Lampson from second base. The Crimson were unable to hold the lead, as Boston University scored three times over the remaining one inning to grab the 3-1 win.
