Women's Soccer Looks Back On Incredible 2022 Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Crimson ended its remarkable 2022 season with a 12-2-3 record and an undefeated 5-0-2 mark in the Ivy League, finsihing the year rnaked No. 25 in the nation. The Branca Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Soccer, Chris Hamblin, and his group received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the second round for the first time since 2014.
 
The Crimson was ranked as high as No. 16 in the nation this year and appeared in the national polls five times and were at least receiving votes in nine of the 12 polls in 2022.

HWS has already begun its prepartation for the 2023 campaign which is set to begin in late August. Be on the lookout for the schedule release in the coming months. 
 

Harvard Women's Soccer Regular Season Noteables 

  • Fifth-best scoring offense in the nation at 2.87 goals per game
  • Finished No. 2 in the nation with 2.93 assists per game
  • Finished No. 2 in the nation with 8.97 points per game
  • Finished No. 2 in the nation with 9.67 shots on goal per game
  • Posted the ninth-best win-loss percentage in the country at .833 mark
  • It's 44 assists were 15th most in the nation
  • Scored 43 goals which is currently the tenth most for a team in program history and most since 1996
  • Scored three or more goals in eight games for the second straight season
  • Scored four or more goals in five games for the first time since 1999
  • Scored five or more goals in three games for the first time since 2014
  • Posted the best winning percentage since 1999 (.906)

 
Harvard Women's Soccer Highlights

  • Earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season
  • Played a first-round home game in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014
  • Shutout UNH in the first round to advance to the round of 32 for the first time since 2014
  • Earned two All-American nominations for only the fourth time in program history (Hannah BebarJade Rose)
  • Saw six players earn All-Ivy honors including three players on the First-Team
  • The Crimson end the season with 47 goals, tied for the eighth most by a team in program history.
