CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Josefine Hasbo is heading to Australia and New Zealand to play in the 2023 FIFA World Cup after making the Danish Women's National Team this morning. Hasbo, a Runstad Kyst, Denmark native, will become the first Harvard women's soccer player ever to join a national squad at the World Cup when she travels down under in July.
Hasbo, a rising junior and midfielder, has been playing with the Senior Danish Women's National Team since she was 17 years old, making her one of the youngest players to make the Danish team. The Crimson's star midfielder has played in six games with Danish squad making two starts against Sweden and Japan this past April. Hasbo also scored her first national team goal last October in a World Cup Qualifier against Montenegro.
Josie Hasbo and the Danish National Team will kick off its tournament run on Saturday, July 22 against China at 5:30 AM (EST). The following two group stage matches will be against England on Friday, July 28 at 4:30 AM (EST) and against Haiti on Tuesday, August 1 at 7:00 AM (EST).
