CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's and women's track and field and cross country teams will add a talented class of 23 first-years from 10 different countries to the program for the 2023-24 seasons, The William W. "Bill" McCurdy Director of Track and Field/Cross Country,
Jason Saretsky, announced on Thursday.
"I'm thrilled to welcome our class of 2027 to Harvard and look forward to supporting them as they add to our tradition of academic and athletic excellence. This is a phenomenal group representing so many different backgrounds and I know they share my excitement in building on our program's recent successes," says Saretsky.
The incoming student-athletes will join a track and field and cross country team that had an outstanding 2022-23 season on both the conference and the national level. The Crimson recently swept the Ivy League outdoor championships with both the men's and women's teams landing on top of the standings. The women's team completed a triple crown, winning the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field titles. The men's team finished second at the indoor track and field and cross country championship meets.
On the national stage, Harvard has had representation at all three NCAA Championship events, with student-athletes earning All-American honors in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field. The men's team finished 17th in the nation at the NCAA cross country championship meet while both teams finished nationally ranked at the NCAA outdoor track and field championship meet, with the women's team finishing ninth in the nation at the NCAA Championship and the men's team finishing in a tie for 11th.
