KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Harvard women's soccer was represented on two of the United Soccer Coaches "Players to Watch" lists this week ahead of the 2023 campaign. Junior defender
Jade Rose and junior midfielder
Hannah Bebar both made the lists for their respective positions after All-American caliber seasons a year ago. Junior midfielder,
Josefine Hasbo, a new addition to the list, was also featured on the midfielders group.
Harvard was the only Ivy League school highlighted on the list, and one of only five Northeast teams with a representative.
Bebar, a two-time All-American, returns for her third season in Cambridge after a spectacular season in 2022. The Illinois native tallied 20 points off six goals and eight assists in only 13 games played and finished the year inside the top-25 nationally in assists per game and points per game.
Jade Rose, a junior midfielder, is also coming off an excellent 2022 campaign in which she anchored a defense that finished second in the Ivy League and allowed less than a goal per game over the course of the season. A newly elected team captain, Rose started in all 11 games that she played in a year ago, recording two assists from her center back position.
Josefine Hasbo, a participant in the 2023 World Cup with Denmark, was also featured on the list after a breakout season a year ago. The junior midfielder factored in all over the pitch in the 13 games that she played in, netting six goals while assisting on four more for 16 points, the third highest total on the team. Hasbo was also crucial in the defensive gameplan for Harvard in 2022.
These three honorees are in the midst of their preseason training for the 2023 season that is set to begin with a match at Fairfield on August 25, 2023.
