ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Aug. 17, 2023) – Harvard women's soccer standouts
Hannah Bebar,
Josefine Hasbo and
Jade Rose were among the 56 NCAA Women's Division I college soccer players named to the 2023 Hermann Trophy Watch List as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday. The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The trio landed on their respective position watch lists earlier this week and now find themselves on the National Player of the Year award watch list.
Bebar, a two-time All-American, returns for her third season in Cambridge after a spectacular season in 2022. The Illinois native tallied 20 points off six goals and eight assists in only 13 games played and finished the year inside the top-25 nationally in assists per game and points per game.
Jade Rose, a junior midfielder, is also coming off an excellent 2022 campaign in which she anchored a defense that finished second in the Ivy League and allowed less than a goal per game over the course of the season. A newly elected team captain, Rose started in all 11 games that she played in a year ago, recording two assists from her center back position.
Josefine Hasbo, a participant in the 2023 World Cup with Denmark, was also featured on the list after a breakout season a year ago. The junior midfielder factored in all over the pitch in the 13 games that she played in, netting six goals while assisting on four more for 16 points, the third highest total on the team. Hasbo earned second-team All-Ivy honors for her efforts on the pitch a year ago.
These three honorees are in the midst of their preseason training for the 2023 season that is set to begin with a match at Fairfield on August 25, 2023.
