Softball's Taylor Headed to Pitt as New Panthers Director of Operations

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard softball assistant coach Monica Taylor has been named the Director of Operations at Pitt, it was announced today. Taylor departs the Crimson after a successful two-year stint on the Crimson coaching staff.

"We are so thankful for Monica and the time she spent with Harvard Softball," stated Head Coach Jenny Rohn. "Her passion, thoughtfulness and love for Harvard Softball is unmatched. We wish her the very best and know that she will accomplish great things with Coach Allard at Pitt."

Taylor will be heading to The Steel City in the wake of former Crimson Head Coach and new Panthers Head Coach Jenny Allard's departure to Pitt. This will be her second position as a Director of Operations, as she formerly spent three seasons at NC State, the first two as the Wolfpack's Director of Operations (2019-20) and her final campaign as an assistant coach (2021).

In her two seasons with the Crimson, she helped lead the team to two Ivy League Tournament appearances, highlighted by the 2023 season in which the Crimson won the Ivy League regular-season title, the Ivy League Tournament and made an appearance at the NCAA Arkansas Regional Tournament.

As the Wolfpack's Director of Operations, she implemented and managed NC State's analytics equipment and data, coordinated team travel logistics, oversaw the program's manager staff, assisted with community service activities, and played an integral role in recruiting efforts.

With her appointment in Pittsburgh, Pa., Taylor will join an ACC team that went 24-25 on the season in 2023, with two athletes earning All-ACC honors and earning spots on the NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.
