Men’s Golf Announces Participation in Four Competitions This Fall

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's golf team is under two weeks away from opening its Fall 2023 competition schedule. The Crimson and The Bobby Jones '24 Coach for Harvard Men's Golf, Kevin Rhoads, announced its participation in four events this Fall. Harvard will compete in three different states throughout an exciting and challenging Fall slate.

The Crimson will open the Fall season by defending its title at the 2023 Doc Gimmler (Sept. 9-10) at Bethpage Golf Club hosted by St. John's. Harvard broke records on its way to a 1st place finish out of 15 teams in last year's Doc Gimmler with a score of 33-under par and posted a new program record 264 in the first round of the 54-hole tournament.

Next, Harvard will travel to Yale Golf Club to compete in the MacDonald Cup on Sept. 23-24. The Crimson finished in second place in the 2022 tournament, hosted by Yale University.

Harvard will make the trip to Long Island in early October to play in the Hamptons Intercollegiate, hosted by Loyola-Maryland at the prestigious Maidstone Country Club in East Hampton, New York. The Golf Digest Top 100 course will host ten teams in this year's field on Oct. 2-3.

The Crimson's Fall schedule wraps up with a return to the Alister McKenzie Invitational in at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif. on Oct. 9-10. The Crimson, who led after two rounds a year ago, will look to improve on its fifth place from last year's tournament when it travels to the event hosted by the University of California this Fall.

This four-tournament schedule is just the beginning of the Crimson's season as the team will soon release its Spring competition schedule. Follow along on GoCrimson.com for more updates and announcements as they are released.
