Volleyball Swept by Boston College on the Road

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Harvard Women's Volleyball team (6-2) was swept by Boston College as they traveled to the Eagles' home court on Friday. BC won the match 3-0 in sets of 25-14, 27-25 and 25-18. 

The Crimson trailed the lead from the beginning of the first set as the Eagles lengthened it throughout the frame, putting Harvard down one after the first set ended 15-14, Boston College.

Set two began much more favorably for the Crimson, as Harvard started with a 4-0 lead and continued to hold strong from there as Ashley Wang and Ryleigh Patterson got their first aces of the match and Ariana White started the set with a solo block. The Eagles made a comeback in the final points, pushing the set beyond 25 as Boston College won 27-25.

The third set was a close one the entire way, with multiple ties and lead changes to start the first ten points. From there, Boston College took the lead and went on to win the set 25-18 to lead the Crimson to only their second loss this season.

Harvard Highlights

  • Nicole Prescott and Katie Vorhies both hit double-digits in kills, scoring 10 each over the Eagles.
  • White was a highlight at the net, making two solo blocks against the Eagles and two block assists. First-years Patterson and Ali Farquhar added four and two block assists, respectively.
  • Wang led the team in assists, setting up 17 for her teammates.  
  • Lindsey Zhang was near a double-double as she made 11 digs to lead the team in that metric and paired it with seven assists.
  • Harvard out-blocked Boston College, 8-6.

Up Next

The Crimson will finish this week's campaign at home as they play host to Providence at 7 p.m. in the Malkin Athletic Center on Saturday. The match will stream on ESPN+.
