CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's soccer is looking to bounce back in a big way this Saturday when it makes the trip to Manhattan to battle the Columbia Lions. The Crimson (5-3-1, 0-1-0 Ivy) will be coming off a loss in its Ivy League opener when it clashes with the Lions (7-1-1, 1-0-0 Ivy) at 5:00 PM on Saturday at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium and live on ESPN+.
Harvard will look to snap its skid and earn a big win when it squares off with Columbia, who is No. 22 in the RPI as of Wednesday – on Saturday.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Harvard currently sits at No. 68 in the RPI poll as of Wednesday.
- The Crimson holds a 30-3-3 record all time against Columbia dating back to 1986.
- The team is 8-0-2 against the Lions in its past ten matchups and has not dropped a game to the foe since the 2007 season.
- Harvard posted a convincing 5-0 result over the Lions in last years contest on senior night at Jordan Field (Nov. 5, 2022).
- Harvard has outscored the Lions 17-6 in its past ten matchups.
- The Crimson suffered its first back-to-back losses since 2018 after the result against Brown.
- Harvard has fought well after two game losing skids under Coach Hamblin, posting a 5-1 record after suffering back-to-back losses in his tenure.

- The trio of Gabby DelPico, Josefine Hasbo and Ólöf Kristinsdóttir paces the team with 12 points apiece.
- Kristinsdóttir leads the team with five goals and the total is also good for second in the Ivy League.
- Her .56 goals per game is also tied for the seventh best amongst first-years in the nation and is the best in the Ivy League.
- August Hunter has stepped up to become an important piece of the backline, leading the team in minutes played (802).
- DelPico, Hasbo and Ava Lung have all notched four assists this season, tying for the team lead.
- The Crimson's 2.67 assists per game ranks 17th in the nation and second in the Ivy League.
- Harvard's scoring offense ranks 28th in the nation and is also second-best in the conference.
UP NEXT
Two Ivy League contests await the Crimson next week. First, Harvard will host the Dartmouth Big Green on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Jordan Field. The Crimson and its Ivy League counterparts have teamed up to host a league wide Pride Night during the midweek matchups.
On Saturday, Harvard will travel out to central New York for a tilt against the Cornell Big Red at 2:30 PM.
