DAVIDSON, N.C. – Harvard wrestling begins its dual meet season with a trip to North Carolina. The Crimson will open up against Davidson, followed by Lock Haven on Thursday, Jan. 11. Both matches will stream live on FloWrestling. Wrestling will resume action on Saturday, Jan. 13 in a dual vs. the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C. Saturday's meet will stream live on ACC Network Extra.
WHAT TO KNOW:
- Senior 174-pound wrestler Philip Conigliaro won first-place honors at the Franklin & Marshall Open this past weekend, improving him to a 10-1 record.
- Senior 165-pound wrestler Joshua Kim recorded a fourth-place finish and senior 184-pound wrestler Leo Tarantino took sixth place at the F&M Open.
- Sophomore 141-pound wrestler Jimmy Harrington has a 8-5 record thus far, hoping to capitalize on his early season momentum.Â
- Sophomore 141-pound wrestler Joseph Cangro, Junior 157-pound wrestler Cael Berg, and Junior 141-pound wrestler Kenny Herrmann all impressed at the F&M Open with four victories each.
- Junior 125-pound wrestler Diego Sotelo leads the Crimson with 13 wins on the year.Â
- Two Crimson wrestlers are currently in the FloWrestling DI Rankings for 2023-24.
- No. 29 Sotelo is projected to face No.1 ranked 125 pound wrestler Anthony Noto from Lock Haven.Â
- Conigliaro sits as No. 12Â 174-pound wrestler on the FloWrestling's rankings.Â
- This is the first time Harvard Wrestling has faced either Davidson or Lock Haven in a dual meet.Â
- The Crimson faced the Tar Heels last year in its first dual meet of the season, losing 22-12. Sophomore 149-pound wrestler Jack Crook, Junior 174-pound wrestler Alex Whitworth, and Kim all came out victorious in last year's matchup.Â
