CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After two consecutive Friday night games, Harvard returns to its traditional Saturday routine with a non-conference clash vs. in-state foe Holy Cross (Noon ET, ESPN+). The Oct. 19 contest represents the midway point and the final non-Ivy League game for the Crimson.

- Harvard opens a two-game homestand fresh off a pair of impressive victories -- one vs. then-No. 16/21 New Hampshire at home and the other against a Cornell team that put up 47 points in a win over Ivy preseason favorite Yale.
- Quarterback Jaden Craig threw for a career-high 316 yards and four touchdowns in the 38-20 win at Cornell. The signal caller completed passes to a season-high eight receivers, with Cooper Barkate totaling a season-best 130 yards and two TDs, and Seamus Gilmartin adding 74 yards and two scores. Scott Woods II, meanwhile, had a career-high 10 catches for 76 yards, to go with 74 punt return yards (long of 45) en route to him being named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week.
- Craig's four-TD performance was Harvard's first since Nov. 12, 2022, when Charlie Dean was 29-of-38 for 316 yards and four touchdowns at Penn. For his effort at Cornell, Craig was this week's recipient of the New England Football Writers Association Gold Helmet Award.
- Gilmartin's two-touchdown night vs. the Big Red was something not seen at Harvard in several years. The sophomore became the first tight end to score two TDs in a game (54 yds., 20 yds.) since Ryan Antonellis (8 yds., 4 yds.) did it vs. Dartmouth on Oct. 28, 2017. Gilmartin's 54-yard catch was also the 15th longest by an FCS tight end this season and the 11th-longest TD, through Oct. 13 games.Â
- This Holy Cross-Harvard matchup features the top two Division I programs in the state of the Massachusetts since 2014. The Crimson enter the matinee having won at a .702 clip, going 66-28 over that span. The Crusaders, meanwhile, have gone 65-52, for a .556 success rate. Among current FCS programs nationally, Harvard's winning percentage since 2014 ranks fifth, with Holy Cross tied for 32nd (North Dakota).
- Harvard is in search of its second straight win over Holy Cross after it emerged with a 38-28 decision last season over the No. 5/6 Crusaders at Polar Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate Worcester WooSox. The Crimson has recently had the upper hand in the series, having gone 4-1 in the last five get-togethers. The one blemish, however, came in 2022, when No. 11/10 Holy Cross came into Harvard Stadium and earned a 30-21 victory.
- This season's game will feature a Harvard team that has won eight straight home games and a Holy Cross side that enters the game ranked second nationally among current FCS schools in road winning percentage, having won 75 percent of its games (18-6) since 2021. The Crimson's eight-game home winning streak is tied for the fourth longest in the FCS nationally (Howard) and trails only South Dakota State (24), Florida A&M (21) and Villanova (12).
- During Harvard's eight-game home winning streak, the Crimson defense has allowed just 16.1 points per home game to rank 13th among current FCS programs since the streak started in 2023. This season overall, the defense has been stout, ranking fourth nationally in rushing defense (1st in Ivy), eighth in total defense (1st in Ivy) and 13th in scoring defense (2nd in Ivy).
