Football’s Henderson Named Preseason First-Team All-American; O’Brien, Line Named to Second Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football landed an Ivy League-best three players on the 2026 FCS Football Central Preseason All-America Team. Defensive back Damien Henderson was a first-team selection, while offensive lineman Thomas O'Brien and linebacker Sean Line were second-team picks.

A Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List choice, Henderson picks up his second All-America honor after earning preseason second-team honors from Stats Perform. Henderson, a 2023 Freshman All-American, is coming off a 2025 campaign that saw him total 46 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, two quarterback hurries and six pass breakups. The two-time all-conference selection's two picks were tied for the most on the team, while his PBU and tackle numbers ranked second and fourth, respectively.

Similar to Henderson, both O'Brien and Line garnered their second preseason All-America award of 2026 as both were third-team picks by Stats Perform.

A 2025 All-Ivy League First-Team performer, O'Brien allowed zero sacks, one hit and two hurries last season, according to Pro Football Focus. Line, meanwhile, garnered first-team all-Ivy League honors in '25 and enjoyed a breakout campaign that saw him lead the team with 94 tackles, while adding 4.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks, one interception, 10 quarterback hurries and two pass breakups.

The trio last season helped Harvard capture its third consecutive Ivy League championship and earn its first bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs. The Crimson rose to as high as No. 7 in the Stats Perform Top 25 Poll and finished the year with a 9-2 record (6-1 Ivy). Harvard's season, meanwhile, will get underway on Sept. 19, at fellow 2025 NCAA participant New Hampshire. Season tickets and single-game tickets for the 2026 home schedule are available at GoCrimson.com.
