Men's Lightweight Rowing Gears Up for the 59th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard men's lightweight rowing begins the fall 2024 campaign this weekend at the 59th annual Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR). The Crimson will race on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 19-20, 2024.

WHAT TO KNOW

Harvard's lightweight 4+ 'B' boat will race in the club four event on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 12:35 p.m. ET. The lightweight 4+ 'A' boat will compete the following day, Sunday, Oct. 20, at 12:48 p.m. The Harvard lightweight eight will race at 2:02 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Harvard's lightweight eight is coming off back-to-back gold medals at HOCR and is looking to complete the three-peat this weekend. Last year's boat finished with a time of 14:51.920, besting the second-place finisher by less than a second.

The Crimson are directed by Billy Boyce, the Friends of Harvard Lightweight Rowing Coach for Men's Lightweight Crew, who is beginning his ninth year in charge of the lightweight men's team. Senior Brahm Erdmann will serve as captain for the Crimson during the 2024-25 season.
