GLEN ARBOR, N.Y. - Harvard men's golf took first place in the four-team Glen Arbor Invitational this weekend, shooting an impressive ten-over-par as a team to defeat Yale, Dartmouth and Seton Hall in the 36-hole tournament. The win officially closes out the Crimson's Fall competition schedule as the team now goes into the Winter break to prepare for the Spring season.

How It Happened
  • Harvard men's golf made the trip to the greater New York City area to take on Dartmouth, Yale and Seton Hall in a four-team, 36-hole tournament at the Glen Arbor Golf Club.

  • In the first round, William Ma and J. Fang both set the tone for the Crimson, posting scores of 70 and 72 to move into second and third place, respectively. Zhang and Jones both impressed in the first 18 holes, carding two-over-par rounds of 74 to give Harvard a first round team score of just two-over-par. The 290 stroke total was the best in the field by eight strokes and put the team in the lead at the conclusion of the first round of play.
  • Ma caught fire in the second round, carding three eagles - including a two on the par-four 16th hole - to shoot a 71. Ma finished the tournament with a score of three-under-par to claim second place overall in the 31-golfer field.
  • J. Fang followed up with a round 74, while Zhang posted an even-par 72 to help lift the Crimson to the top spot in the tournament. Harvard's second round team score of eight-over par gave the group a tournament score of just ten-over-par, the best in the field by 14 strokes.
