CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing returns to the water this weekend with appearances scheduled for the final of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, Nevins Trophy and NEISA Match Racing Championships.

Women's Atlantic Coast Championship – Final | Annapolis, Md.
The weather is expected to be nice all weekend with Saturday reaching 75 in the late afternoon and the wind coming out of the west between 7-8 knots. Sunday will be a touch cooler, but the puffs will be stronger, blowing out of the south between 6-11 knots.
Nevins Trophy | Kings Point, N.Y.
Sunny skies, temperatures in the low- to mid-70s and winds out of the west-northwest between 10-11 knots will be in play for Saturday. A day later, the temperature is expected to reach 69 degrees, with winds blowing out of the southeast and shifting to the south between 7-10 knots.
NEISA Match Racing Championships | New London, Conn.
The sun will be shining, and the wind will be blowing on Saturday. Temperatures will creep toward 70 degrees and the puffs are scheduled to originate out of the west, before shifting to the west-northwest (9-13 knots). On Sunday, temps will be in the mid-60s with the wind reaching a velocity between 6-10 knots (east, south-southeast, south, south-southwest).
What to Know
- Harvard is coming off a successful two-regatta weekend that saw it post a pair of runner-up finishes. The second-place performances marked the Crimson's 10th and 11th upper-half team finishes in 15 scoring events this fall.
- At the first round of the Open Atlantic Coast Championship (St. Mary's City, Md.), Justin Callahan and Kennedy Leehealey sailed in the A-Division and finished with a score of 61 after nine top-5 finishes and three race wins. Mitchell Callahan and Alexandra Dorofeev, meanwhile, occupied the Harvard B-boat and finished with a 73, following 10 top-7 efforts. The Crimson finished the two-day event with a score of 134, trailing only Tulane and its final tally of 132.
- Up at the Hewitt Trophy in Maine, Harvard was just as consistent as its contingent at the Open ACC - First Round. Harrison Strom and Katherine Shin led the way with an A-Division-best score of 21 after never finishing below sixth place. Kate Danielson and Christina Chen nearly equaled the Strom-Shin performance with a final score of 33, and did not find themselves lower than eighth place in any of the nine races. Harvard's team total of 54 ranked second only to Boston College's 40.
- Harvard is set to compete in the final round of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships after it finished in second place (104) to Stanford (81) in New London, Sept. 28-29. Zoey Ziskind, Christina Chen (1-10) and Peyton Hadfield (11) won the B-Division with a score of 32. Cordelia Burn and Margo Silliman finished in fifth in the A-Division. The trio of Ziskind, Chen and Hadfield were later named the NEISA Women's Sailors of the Week for its performance.
- The Crimson the last three seasons have finished in 5th (2023), 7th (2022) and 5th (2021) at the Women's ACC Final.
- Harvard is set to make its first appearance at the Nevins Trophy since 2017, when it finished in 12th place.
- The NEISA Match Racing Championships are taking place this weekend after rainy conditions in Marblehead thwarted competition during the weekend of Sept. 21-22. With the postponement, the event was moved to New London.

Harvard will compete at mostly local events next weekend, Oct. 19-20. The Crimson will take the water for the Open Atlantic Coast Championship – Final, an event hosted by Boston College, while also sailing at MIT's Oberg Trophy. Harvard will also make the relatively short trip to New Haven, Connecticut, for the Yale Women's Regatta.
