PRINCETON, N.J. – The Harvard University Women's Soccer team is proud to announce that six of its student-athletes have been named to the 2024 All-Ivy League teams, highlighting their exceptional performances and contributions throughout the season. The Crimson had three players selected to the First Team, one to the Second Team, and one to the Honorable Mention list while also adding one student-athlete to the Academic All-Ivy squad.
The six players earning All-Ivy honors are:
First Team All-Ivy
Áslaug Gunnlaugsdóttir (Senior) – Forward
Josefine Hasbo (Senior) – Midfielder
Jade Rose (Senior) – Defender
Second Team All-Ivy
Rhiannon Stewart (Junior) – Goalkeeper
Honorable Mention
Audrey Francois (Junior) – Forward
Academic All-Ivy
August Hunter (Junior) - Defender
Jade Rose completed her Crimson career by becoming just the eighth player in program history to earn four First Team All-Ivy League honors. Rose played in 11 games for the Crimson this season, notching six points with four assists and one goal. Her solo tally on the season came against Milwaukee (Sep. 12) and was one of the best of the year for HWS, earning the top spot on SportsCenter's Top Plays of the day.
A 2023 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist,
Josefine Hasbo earned her second First Team nomination – and fourth All-Ivy honor overall - after another standout season with Harvard. The Denmark native notched 16 points on the year with seven goals and two assists, finishing her Harvard career with 65 points, the ninth-most in program history.
One of the best storylines for the Crimson this season was the return of senior forward,
Áslaug Gunnlaugsdóttir, who scored a team-best eight goals on her way to her first All-Ivy First Team selection. The Iceland native also led the team with 20 points on the season, a career best for the senior.
Rhiannon Stewart was honored with a spot on the All-Ivy Second Team after anchoring the Crimson defense throughout the entire 2024 season. The junior goalkeeper played every minute of every game, posting a 1.13 GAA and a .811 save percentage on the year. The England native also posted six shutouts on the year, the third-most in HWS history.
Audrey Francois earned her first career All-Ivy honor this season, landing on the Honorable Mention list after playing in all 16 games and scoring two goals to go along with one assist. Her contributions to the Harvard offensive attack did not go unnoticed after a solid season up front for the Crimson.
August Hunter was honored on the Academic All-Ivy team after posting excelling in the classroom and on the pitch. Hunter was a standout on the Crimson backline, playing every minute in every game, logging 1,440 minutes on the pitch this season. Hunter was the only field player in the league to play every minute of every match this season.
