AUSTIN, Texas – Adding yet another accolade to her already lengthy list of achievements as a Harvard women's soccer student-athlete,
Jade Rose of Harvard women's soccer was honored today by the College Sports Communicators earning Academic All-America honors. Rose - a senior defender from Markham, Ontario, Canada – landed on the First Team after another remarkable season on the pitch and in the classroom. Rose, the only Ivy League representative on the list, becomes just the second student-athlete in program history to make the Academic All-America First Team.
After an incredible career wearing the Crimson and white, Rose is set to graduate from Harvard this Spring with a degree in Psychology from the College. This is Rose's third career honor from the CSC Academic All-America program, earning three placements on the All-District team and one other All-America nod in 2023 where she earned third team honors.
A two-time team captain, Rose adds this recognition to her First Team All-Ivy League honor that she received earlier this season. The two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year became just the eighth student-athlete in program history to earn four consecutive First-Team selections from the conference.
Rose was once again dominant on the pitch for the Crimson in 2024, playing in 11 games and helping the team to a 6-1-4 record while she was on the pitch. The Senior Canadian National team member contributed five points to the offensive attack, scoring a goal and dealing out three assists on the campaign. Her goal against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Sep. 12) was one of the best goals in collegiate soccer this season, coming from way outside the 18 from a near-impossible angle. The goal was given the top spot on SportsCenter's top plays of the day.
Contributing to a stout defensive unit, Rose and the rest of the Harvard defense helped the Crimson shut out its first four opponents and eventually post a 441-minute scoreless streak to begin the season which went down as the second longest run to begin a season in program history. Rose will now move on from Harvard after an illustrious career in Cambridge.
