CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior distance runner
Maia Ramsden will run at the 2024 World Athletics Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. The marquee meet takes place between Friday, Mar. 1 – Sunday, Mar. 3 at the Emirates Arena. Ramsden will run in the women's 1,500m race, the first event of the afternoon session on Friday, Mar. 1.
With the World Athletics Indoor Championships added to her schedule, Ramsden will now run in three consecutive championship meets over the next three weeks. She'll run at the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25, followed by the World Indoor Athletics Championships. Ramsden's indoor season ends on Friday, Mar. 8 and Saturday, Mar. 9, as she'll run at the TRACK at new balance for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Ramsden is enjoying a stellar senior indoor campaign, rewriting the Ivy League record book by breaking three conference records this season.
The season started with a bang, as Ramsden broke the Ivy League record in the 3,000m run at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener with a time of 8:46.84. Last weekend, Ramsden toppled two Ivy League records in two days, setting a new conference standard in the distance medley relay with teammates
Sophia Gorriaran,
Egbe Ndip-Agbor, and
Victoria Bossong at the Eagle Elite Invitational. The very next day, Ramsden broke the Ivy League record in the mile at the 116
th Millrose Games.
With just one collegiate meet left before the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Ramsden owns the top mile time (4:24.83) and the second best 3,000m time (8:46.84) in the country.
Harvard will welcome its conference peers to Gordon Indoor Track on Saturday, Feb. 24 and Sunday, Feb. 25 for the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships. Crimson fans can purchase tickets
