Flynn, Hunter Earn Ivy League Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard softball pitchers Riley Flynn and Nicolette Hunter garnered Ivy League weekly honors after posting stellar performances in the Crimson's first five games of the 2024 season. Flynn earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors, while the Ivy League named Hunter Rookie of the Week.

Flynn, the reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Year, kicked off her sophomore season strong at the UNF-JU Classic. In four appearances, Flynn pitched 10.2 innings while allowing only one run, tallying 10 strikeouts with an earned run average of 0.66. Coming out of the bullpen, Flynn tossed 4.2 scoreless innings in Harvard's 8-2 win against Iowa, limiting the Hawkeye's offense to only two hits.

In her first weekend with the Crimson, Hunter excelled in the circle. The Camarillo, Calif. native secures Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors after not allowing a run in a team-high 11.2 innings across three appearances. Hunter got the start in a 6-1 win against Manhattan, putting in 6.1 innings of work while only allowing four hits with two strikeouts.

Harvard travels south again next weekend, heading to Atlanta, Ga. for the Panther Invitational from Friday, Mar. 1 to Sunday, Mar. 3.
