Ramsden Sets New Zealand Indoor 1,500m Record at World Indoor Championships

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – One of the top distance runners in the collegiate ranks, Harvard track & field senior Maia Ramsden made a splash at the first day of the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, advancing to the finals of the women's 1,500m run with a New Zealand national record time of 4:06.51, breaking her own school record in the event as well.

Running in the second heat of the semifinals, Ramsden finished in third place of her section, clinching a spot in the finals on Sunday, Mar. 3. In the NCAA record book, Ramsden ranks second all-time, as NC State's Katelyn Tuohy holds the record at 4:06.49.

The defending NCAA National Champion in the outdoor 1,500m, Ramsden qualified for the mile and the 3,000m at next weekend's NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the TRACK at New Balance.

Fans can watch Ramsden run in the 1,500m finals on Sunday, Mar. 3, as the World Indoor Championships are streaming live on Peacock starting at 2 p.m.
