CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Four Harvard Women's Soccer student-athletes and alumnae alike, joined their National teams during the most recent international window to compete for their respective home countries.
Jade Rose - Defender - Team Canada
Junior captain
Jade Rose participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup with the Canadian Women's National Team. Rose joined the team late last year for their Olympic Qualifier games as well as International friendlies against Brazil and Australia. In the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Rose started in four of five games and helped the team advance to the semifinal round against the United States.
Earning the title of 2023 Canada Soccer Youth Player of the Year, a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-America and Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, Rose has been a key part of Crimson success. Starting in every game she played in, Rose recorded five points while anchoring a defense that helped Harvard win an Ivy League Championship.
Margarent "Midge" Purce '17 - Forward - Team USA
Midge Purce'17 played in the CONCACAF Gold Cup against Rose on the USWNT. In the first round of the CONCACAF tournament, the United States bested the Dominican Republic in a 5-0 victory, where Purce posted three assists on the five goals. The United State claimed the CONCACAF Trophy with help from Purce after defeating Brazil, 1-0 in the Championship match.
While at Harvard, Purce had an accolade-studded career, being named a Mac Hermann semi-finalist and a two-time All-American. She netted a total of 42 goals for the Crimson and posted a 22-2-4 record in Ivy play over four years.
Josefine Hasbo - Midfielder - Danish Women's National Team
Playing with the Danish National Team from the time she was 18, junior midfielder
Josefine Hasbo was calledto play in the Women's World Cup this past summer. After losing to England, Denmark made it past Haiti with a 2-0 victory in the knock-out rounds. Hasbo played in all four games and helped Denmark to score their second goal over Haiti.
Hasbo has had a stellar career here at Harvard as well. This season she was the leading scorer on the team and ranked No. 5 in the nation with game-winning goals. A semi-finalist for the MAC Hermann trophy, Hasbo earned United Soccer Coaches First-Team All-America honors and was named the Ivy League Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Olof Kristinsdottir - Forward - Icelandic Women's National Team
Olof Kristinsdottir is a member of the Icelandic Senior Women's National Team and recently participated in UEFA Women's Nation's League competition. She helped the team to three victories over both Denmark and Serbia.
Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Kristinsdottir tied for 11
th most goals by a first year in the nation with eight this past season with the Crimson. She started in all 19 games with the Crimson this season and netted the game-winning goal against Princeton in the semi-final round of the Ivy League Tournament.
