No. 21 Women's Lacrosse Returns to Ivy Play With Penn This Weekend

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 21 Harvard women's lacrosse will wrap up its three-game road trip with No. 15 Penn this weekend in Philadelphia. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the game was moved to Sunday at 12:00 p.m. due to inclement weather in the Philadelphia Area. The Crimson will look to improve to 2-0 in Ivy League play after defeating Brown in a thriller in the lone conference game to date. 

WHAT TO KNOW

SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
  • No. 15 Penn sits at 6-1 with the Crimson coming to town. 
  • The only loss of the season for the Quakers came against No. 6 Michigan. In a tight game, the nationally ranked Wolverines came away with a 6-5 victory. 
  • Penn has wins over Drexel, No. 12 John Hopkins, Temple, Columbia, William & Mary, and Georgetown. 
  • The Quakers have won four of the last five matchups against the Crimson with the last Harvard win coming in 2022. 
  • This is third third-ranked opponent the Quakers will play this season.  
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Crimson cruised to a 22-5 win over High Point. 
  • Barkate was one goal shy of her career-high of five goals in a single game. 
  • The six-goal game from Riley Campbell was the first of her career in a Crimson uniform. The senior captain has hat-tricks in at least every game this season and is averaging 4.33 GPG. 
  • Campbell also set another career high in points in a single game with nine. 
  • Callie Hem also has at least a hat-trick in every game this season after a four goal game last week
  • The win over the Panthers was the third time this season the Crimson has scored at least 20 goals. 
  • In wins, the Crimson is outscoring its opponent by 81-39.
MOVING UP 
  • The Crimson moved up to No. 21 in the most recent IWLCA poll. Starting the season unranked, Harvard moved to No. 23 after its impressive start 4-0 start to the season. Picking up a win over High Point its most recent outing the Crimson jumped one spot in the latest edition of the national rankings.  
CRIMSON MILESTONES  NEXT UP 
The Crimson return to Jordan next Saturday for the first time since Mar. 2 to play Dartmouth at 4:00 p.m.
