CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's volleyball (11-6, 3-1 EIVA) posted its second straight win with a 3-1 victory over Dominican University of New York (10-10, 2-1 ECC) this evening in the Malkin Athletic Center.
Playing at home for the first time in a month, the Crimson began the night in a back-and-forth first set with the Chargers. Throughout the set, the Chargers were able to pull ahead of the Crimson, allowing them to take the set, 25-23.
Fighting back in the second set, Harvard built momentum, jumping out to a 3-1 lead. The Chargers responded, but were unable to overtake the Crimson, who went on multiple five and six-point runs. The Crimson took the set in an impressive 25-14 victory and maintained a .538 hitting percentage throughout.
Going into the third, the Chargers jumped out to 4-2. The Crimson was able to even the score midway through the set and then went point-for-point with the Chargers. Finally, the Crimson took the set 25-21 after a kill by
Zach Berty.
Harvard was able to clinch the win in the fourth set, finishing it at 25-21. The set started out going point-for-point, until the Crimson started grabbing multi-point leads midway through.
Andrew Lobo stood out, grabbing four kills in the set alone. Harvard was able to hold the hitting percentage advantage in this set, finishing with a .375. The final two points were delivered by an
Ethan Smith service ace and a kill by
Zach Berty to clinch the Crimson victory.
Harvard Highlights
- Zach Berty led all players with a career-high 20 kills on the night. He also held a .741 hitting percentage and completed five service aces.
- Andrew Lobo had a strong night, being credited with 17 kills, one service ace and 1.5 blocks.
- Adrian Shevchuk had an impressive night, being credited with 53 assists and 6 digs. He also held an individual hitting percentage of.429.
- As a team the Crimson registered a .432 hitting percentage throughout the match to best the Chargers .242.
- Harvard registered seven service aces to the Chargers two with the help of Berty.

The Crimson will return to action next Friday (Mar. 29) when they travel to Penn State to restart EIVA action.
