CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing will compete in New England this weekend, with the Marchiando Trophy Team Race set for the Charles River and the Dellenbaugh Trophy Women's Team Race scheduled for Providence, Rhode Island. Both events will take place Saturday-Sunday, March 30-31.

Sunny skies will welcome sailors to the Charles on Saturday, with temperatures in the upper 30-40s. The wind will come from the west-northwest at about 15-16 knots. Sunday will feature warmer temps (low to upper 40s), with winds coming out of the northwest at 9-10 knots.
Dellenbaugh Trophy Women's Team Race | Providence, R.I.
Clear and sunny skies are expected on Saturday, with temperatures in the low 40-50s. The breeze will come out of the west-northwest at 13 knots. Sunday, meanwhile, will feature partly cloudy skies and temps in the low 40-50s. The wind will come out of the northwest at 8-9 knots.
What to Know
- Harvard battled through tough conditions last week in competing in the Duplin Trophy Women's Team Race (Cambridge, Mass.) and the Friis Trophy Team Race (Bristol, R.I.), but managed to record a pair of top-5 finishes.
- The Crimson tied for the second-best record with Boston College at the Duplin Trophy, but finished in third place in a field of 10 teams, following an 0-2 mark vs. the Eagles. Harvard's lineup included skippers Cordelia Burn, Sarah Burn and Zoey Ziskind, and crew members Emily Launderville, Lily Bartlett and Margo Silliman.
- Down in The Ocean State at the Friis Trophy, Harvard finished in a three-way tie for third with Tufts and the U.S. Coast Guard, but came in fourth place after defeating the Bears and falling to the Jumbos. Robby Meek, Lachlain McGranahan, Justin Callahan and Mitchell Callahan were skippers, with Marbella Marlo, Xavier Ayala-Vermont, Matthew Cabot, Aidan Pesce, Kennedy Leehealey and JJ Drummond serving as crew.
- Harvard has finished in the top-5 in all seven regattas this spring, including six straight top-4 performances. The Crimson has also won a race in three of the first four weekends of 2024, capturing the Sharpe Trophy, Wood Trophy and Graham Hall Trophy.
- The Crimson a season ago took third at the eight-team Marchiando Trophy. Justin Callahan, Mitchell Callahan, McGranahan and Leehealey are back from that group, which posted a 10-4 record at MIT's regatta.
- At last year's Dellenbaugh Trophy, Harvard finished seventh of 12 teams after going 6-5 on the weekend. The Crimson returns all three skippers who appeared in 2023 in Cordelia Burn, Sarah Burn and Marlo, and two of its five crew members (Silliman, Bartlett).
