RALEIGH, N.C. – On the opening night of the Raleigh Relays, Harvard track & field distance runners stood out among strong competition at the Paul Derr Track Facility.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:
- The night began with the men's 1500m race, as two Crimson runners placed in the top-35 out of 208 student-athletes.
- After a strong indoor campaign, junior Joe Ewing took seventh in the 1500m, posting a time of 3:40.43. That is a new personal-best for Ewing and the second-fastest time in school history.
- Placing in 32nd, first-year Ferenc Kovacs finished the race in 3:45.95.
- In the men's 5,000m, junior Reed Pryor was the Crimson's top finisher, posting a time of 13:57.26 on his way to 48th place.
- The night ended with the men's 10,000m run, as four Harvard runners earned a spot in the top-25.
- In his 2024 outdoor season debut, senior Acer Iverson was the Crimson's top performer in the 10,000m, logging an eighth-place finish after finishing the race in 28:36.16.
- Sophomore Shane Brosnan impressed with a time of 28:39.42, taking 12th place with a result that ranks fifth in program history.
- Joining Brosnan on the program performance list was junior Ben Rosa, as the Lake Bluff, Ill. native captured 16th place after posting a time of 28:43.13. Rosa's time at the Raleigh Relays ranks sixth on the Harvard performance list.
- In his outdoor debut, first-year Charlie Ortmans impressed with a 24th place finish and a time of 28:57.79, a result that ranks ninth in school history.
