CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field concludes the 2026 outdoor regular season this weekend, as the Crimson will compete at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational on Saturday, May 2 and the Duke Twilight on Sunday, May 3.
WHAT TO KNOW
- Harvard competed at the Penn Relays and the Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Meet last weekend, shining at the two competitions.
- An All-America honorable mention in the women's 3000m steeplechase last season, senior Molly Malague ran a 15:54.45 in the 5000m at the Penn Relays, as that time leads the Ivy League and ranks 36th in the east region this year.
- One of Harvard's team captains, junior Alice Mihas logged a new personal-best in the women's hammer throw, as her throw of 55.79m (183'0") ranks ninth all-time in school history.
- Junior Timi Esan, the defending Ivy League champion in the men's 100m, currently ranks 18th in the east region with a time of 10.15 from the Texas Relays in the 100m.
- Junior Charlie Ortmans ranks 25th in the 5000m with a time of 13:40.46, while first-year Tam Gavenas is 31st with a time of 13:41.43 from the Raleigh Relays. Ortmans and junior Sam Burgess also rank within the top 30 of the men's 10,000m.
- Harvard's 4x100m relay squad currently holds the 10th spot in the east region, as its time of 39.27 also represents a school record.
- A five-time All-American in the 800m across both indoor and outdoor action, junior Sophia Gorriaran is currently 13th in the women's 800m after running a 2:02.23 at the Wake Forest Invitational.
- Sophomore Abigail Dennis is enjoying a breakout season in the women's 400 hurdles, as the Maywood, New Jersey native ranks 25th with a time of 58.31.
- In the women's pole vault, sophomore Ella McRitchie cleared a school record 4.40m (14'5.25") to take the No. 8 spot in the east region.
