Men's Heavyweight First Varsity Eight Wins Sunshine State Invitational

SARASOTA, Fla. –– Harvard men's heavyweight rowing had an impressive showing in the Sunshine State Invitational against numerous top teams. The Crimson competed on both March 29th and 30th (Fri./Sat.), highlighted by the win from the 1st IRA Men's Eight. 

On Friday, Harvard's first varsity boat placed 2nd in its heat, losing to Washington by a second. However, the Crimson bounced back, earning a win over the field: Washington, Yale, Brown, Northeastern, and Stanford. Harvard secured first place by .67 seconds followed by Washington The 2nd and 3rd varsity eight placed 5th and 3rd overall respectively, recapping a promising start to the season for the entire program.
