Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Merrimack, 3-0

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Harvard men's volleyball team (9-5, 3-1 EIVA) defeated Merrimack College on Friday night in three quick sets of 25-22, 25-16, 25-22. With the result, the team is on a four-game win streak and now sits at 9-5 on the season.

How it Happened

In the first set, the Warriors grew a small lead over the Crimson, but Harvard fought back to tie the set at eleven and eventually found itself up 19-15. The Warriors did not give up as the Merrimack team made it a tough battle toward the end of the set, but it was not enough. Harvard took set one, 25-22.

The Crimson looked great in the second set, as the team was winning for its entirety. Logan Shepherd, Andrew Lobo and Ethan McCrary had a few big kills to help the Crimson maintain a comfortable lead in the beginning of the second set. After a bit, Harvard held a 21-10 lead over Merrimack and eventually finished the set, winning it 25-16 to make the score 2-0.

In the third set, Merrimack started out strong and took a 5-2 lead over the Crimson. The lead did not last for long, however, as Harvard tied the match up at seven on a James Bardin kill. The rest of the set was back-and-forth until the Crimson earned the narrow third set win, 25-22, and secured the 3-0 victory over Merrimack.
