Track & Field Opens Weekend with Wake Forest Invitational, Sean Collier Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. and CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Maia Ramsden broke her own Ivy League outdoor record with a time of 4:07.30 in the women's 1,500 meters to highlight Friday competition for Harvard University track & field at the Wake Forest Invitational at Kentner Stadium and the Sean Collier Invite at MIT's Sherie and Don (1961) Morrison Track.

Wake Forest Invitational Harvard Highlights

  • Maia Ramsden broke her own Ivy League outdoor record with a time of 4:07.30 to place fifth overall and first among collegiate entries in the women's 1,500-meter invite. She bested her previous mark of 4:08.60 from 2023.
  • Ramsden also came in fourth in the women's 5,000-meter invite behind a time of 15:44.36
  • Sophia Gorriaran took third place – and second among collegiate entries – in the women's 800-meter invite with a 2:01.60.
  • Reed Pryor placed third in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase in 8:45.15.
  • Graham Blanks finished fourth in the men's 5,000-meter invite with a time of 13:37.34.
  • Six other Crimson raced in the men's 5,000m invite, including Acer Iverson (25th, 14:03.27), Ben Rosa (14:02.19), Shane Brosnan (14:04.27), Charlie Ortmans (14:12.79), Owen Bosley (54th, 14:25.08), and Sam Burgess (60th, 14:32.26).
  • Also competing in the women's 5,000m invite, Ella Gilson placed 15th (16:15.03) and Zoe Cooper came in 22nd (16:21.77).
  • Taking part in the men's 1,500-meter invite, Ferenc Kovacs came in eighth (3:40.57) and Noah Ward finished 41st (3:48.80).
  • Other racers in the women's 1,500-meter invite included Penelope Salmon (30th, 4:19.96), Marianne Mihas (37th, 4:23.48), and Ellaney Matarese (42nd, 4:31.19).
  • Annelies Quinton placed fourth in the women's 5,000m in 16:57.68.
  • Other finishers for the Crimson includes Ethan Aidam (men's 5,000m, 29th, 15:09.87), Lily O'Donoghue-McDonald (women's 1,500m, 21st, 4:33.11), Samira Kennedy (women's 1,500m, 29th, 4:38.39), Isabelle Goldstein (women's 1,500m, 36th, 4:40.32), and Molly Malague (women's 3,000m steeplechase, 17th, 10:33.07).

Sean Collier Invite Harvard Highlights

  • Sameer Das (12th, 3:55.83) represented the Crimson in the men's 1,500 meters while Katie Haag (12th, 4:51.82) and Cristina DeMeo (14th, 5:03.94) competed for Harvard in the women's 1,500 meters.
