CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 19 Harvard women's water polo is set to open the CWPA tournament at Blodgett Pool with Saint Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Looking to advance to the second round, the winner on Friday will advance and play Michigan on Saturday with a spot in the finals on the line. Action begins at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow from Blodgett Pool and will be streamed on ESPN+.
WHAT TO KNOW
O'DEA, GREENWALD, AND HODGE EARN CWPA HONORS
- First-year Maya O'Dea took home CWPA Rookie of the Year honors after an incredible first year in Cambridge.
- Kaity Greenwald took home a second-team nod for her contributions in the pool this season while Ruby Hodge was the sole Crimson to earn a spot on the CWPA first team.
LAST TIME OUT
- An Emma Gilbert hat-trick helped lift the Crimson to a much-needed win over Brown in the regular season finale last week in Providence.
- Ella Prentice and Ruby Hodge each netted a pair of goals to help the Crimson secure a 10-8 win over Brown.
GILBERT AND KIECKHAFER NAB WEEKLY HONORS
- Emma Gilbert and Alexis Kieckhafer took home CWPA weekly honors after Gilbert led the Crimson to a win over Brown and Kieckhafer was solid in the cage with six stops.
LOOKING BACK
- Harvard fell in the CWPA championship game last season to Princeton after defeating the nationally ranked Michigan Wolverines in the semi-final.
- Harvard has made the CWPA championship in back-to-back seasons
NEXT UP
If the Crimson defeat Saint Francis on Friday it will move on to play Michigan in a rematch from last year on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
