CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– No. 1 Harvard men's lightweight rowing will head to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete against Cornell and Penn in the Matthews-Leonard Cup on Saturday.
The Crimson will also take on Georgetown the following day on the Charles River races will begin at 8:15 and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Crimson had an extremely successful showing last weekend against Tufts and Riverside boat club. The Crimson raced three eights, winning both the 1st and 2nd varsity eights outright while the third eight got 2nd.
Cornell and Penn fall close behind Harvard in the IRCA/IRA Pre-season Coaches Poll at No. 2 and 4, respectively.
Harvard leads in both all-time series with Cornell and Penn. Against Cornell the Crimson lead 23-12, while they lead Penn 30-4.
