CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard Men's Volleyball team (11-9, 3-4 EIVA) fell to No. 16 George Mason in Virginia. The Crimson dropped the match in three sets of 15-25, 26-28, and 16-25. Harvard is now 3-4 in conference play and will get another opportunity against the Patriots Saturday evening.
In the first set, George Mason pulled out to quick lead and did not look back. The Patriots won the first set by ten, 25-15, over the Crimson.
Set two started out very strong for the Crimson. Harvard led by as many as seven and the team was fueled by a huge rally point in which
Logan Shepherd had two impressive digs. It looked like Harvard would close out the set, but a powerful comeback from the Patriots led George Mason to tie the set at 24. GMU went on to take the second set, 28-26, and a 2-0 lead.
Once again, Harvard came out strong in the third set. The Crimson ran out to a 5-0 lead, but George Mason stormed back. The Patriots took an 8-7 advantage and held onto the lead the rest of the set. George Mason took set three, 25-16, to secure the win for the Patriots.
