CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing finds itself in fourth place after one day of semifinal action at the ICSA Women's Fleet Racing National Championship on the Charles River. The Crimson and the balance of the 36-team field completed 12 of a scheduled 18 races, with the final six set for Tuesday.
Harvard, with its 145 points, enters tomorrow's action behind Yale (98), Boston College (119) and Dartmouth (130), and ahead of Bowdoin (154) to round out the top five. The top nine, which currently includes Northeastern (6
th, 156), MIT (7
th, 172), Georgetown (8
th, 187) and Tulane (9
th, 207), will advance to the finals, which will begin on Wednesday.
The Crimson's A-Division sailors,
Cordelia Burn (skipper) and
Emily Launderville (crew), finished in the top five on eight different occasions, winning Race Nos. 10 and 11, and coming in second place in Race Nos. 3 and 4. Through 12 rounds, Burn-Launderville posted a score of 64.
Harvard mixed and matched its B-Division sailors, going with
Sarah Burn (skipper) for races No. 1-10, with
Lily Bartlett (1-3, 6-10) and
Marbella Marlo (4-5) serving as crew.
Zoey Ziskind (skipper) and
Margo Silliman (crew), meanwhile, stepped in for the 11
th and 12
th races and are slated to finish out the semifinal round. The Crimson B-Division athletes logged an 81 to help Harvard to its 145 score.
The Crimson will look to maintain its top-nine position tomorrow when the action resumes at 10:30 a.m. ET. ESPN+ will begin its live coverage at 11 a.m. ET.
