CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing finds itself in sixth place after one day of action at the ICSA Women's Fleet Racing National Championship on the Charles River. With 12 of 18 races in the books, the Crimson boasts a score of 202, which is five points behind Brown and four ahead of Cornell.
Competing on the warmest day of 2024, Harvard will enter tomorrow's final day looking to close the gap on Stanford (138), Yale (158), Dartmouth (162), Boston College (182) and the aforementioned Bears (197).
The Crimson finds itself just outside the top five following the performance of its A-Division sailors
Cordelia Burn (skipper) and crew members
Emily Launderville (1-9) and
Marleigh Belsley (10-12), who combined to post a score of 93 (4
th in A-Division). Competing in the B-Division were skippers
Sarah Burn (1-6) and
Zoey Ziskind (7-12), with
Lily Bartlett (1-4),
Marbella Marlo (5-10) and
Margo Silliman (11-12) serving as crew. That group recorded a score of 109 (9
th in B-Division).
Harvard's A-sailors finished the championship course in first place in the 11
th race of the day, while logging eight top-7 performances overall. In the B-Division, the Crimson placed first in the Race Nos. 3 and 8, and finished among the top 10 eight different times.
Harvard will look to complete the final six races of the national championship on Thursday, with the action scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. ET start on the Charles River. ESPN+ will also have live coverage at that time.
