LEXINGTON, Ky. – A quartet of Harvard track & field student-athletes orchestrated stellar performances at the second day of the 2024 NCAA East Region First Round, earning spots in Saturday's quarterfinals.

The defending NCAA Women's 1,500m National Champion Maia Ramsden will run in the 1,500m quarterfinals, while junior Victoria Bossong and first-year Sophia Gorriaran clinched berths in the women's 800m quarterfinals. Junior Chloe Fair will represent the Crimson in the women's 400 hurdles quarterfinals.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:

• The day began with Ramsden moving one step closer to defending her NCAA Women's 1,500m National Championship. In the second heat of the women's 1,500m first round, Ramsden took first place, securing a spot in Saturday's quarterfinal round with a time of 4:10.83.
• A pair of Crimson clinched a spot in the women's 800m quarterfinals, as Gorriaran and Bossong each placed in the top-three in their respective heats.
• A qualifier for the women's 800m at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Gorriaran took first place in sixth and final heat with a time of 2:05.00, while Bossong crossed the finish line in 2:04.01 to take second in the opening heat.
• In the women's 400 hurdles, Fair posted a career-best 56.67 in the first round to finish in second place in her heat, advancing to Saturday's quarterfinals. A native of Suwanee, Georgia, Fair's time at the Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field facility ranks fourth all-time in program history.
• The second day of the 2024 NCAA East Region First Round concluded with the women's 10,000m run, as a pair of Crimson competed in the distance test.
• Junior Ella Gilson finished in 25^th place with a time of 33:40.71, while junior Zoe Cooper slotted in 26^th place after crossing the finish line in 33:48.71.
