LEXINGTON, Ky. – Harvard Track & Field concluded a stellar and memorable week at the 2024 NCAA East Region First Round, as a program record 18 student-athletes punched their tickets to the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The previous record was 10 qualifiers in 2023.

Maia Ramsden will defend her national title at Hayward Field after taking first place in the women's 1,500m at the 2024 NCAA East Region First Round.
With the lights on at the Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Facility, the Crimson shined. Harvard's exciting duo of junior
Victoria Bossong and first-year
Sophia Gorriaran will represent the Crimson in the 800m, while junior
Chloe Fair earned a spot in the women's 400 hurdles.
Across the final two events of the meet, Harvard punched even more tickets to nationals. Ramsden picked up a spot in the women's 5,000m in Eugene, while Fair, junior
Izzy Goudros, Gorriaran, and Bossong combined to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the women's 4x400m relay.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:
- Saturday's action began with the Crimson's lone field event of the day, as Wepiwé will head to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in just her first collegiate season. The 2024 Ivy League women's discus champion, Wepiwé's first throw of 55.75m (182'11") placed her in the top-12 in Lexington, as the attempt is a personal-best for Wepiwé and is third all-time in program history.
- Over on the track, Ramsden took care of business in the women's 1,500m quarterfinals. The New Zealand national record holder in the indoor and outdoor women's 1,500m, Ramsden ran to a time of 4:05.65, setting a new facility record to clinch a spot in Eugene.
- Making her NCAA East Region First Round debut, sophomore Molly Malague placed 20th in the 3,000m steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:24.94.
- A qualifier for the women's 800m at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, Gorriaran will represent the Crimson on the biggest stage in collegiate track & field, as she took second place in the third heat with a time of 2:00.65. That mark represents Gorriaran's fastest time in her collegiate career.
- In the second heat, Bossong ran to a time of 2:02.05, taking ninth place overall in the women's 800m.
- Fair began her evening in the women's 400 hurdles, as the Suwanee, Georgia native posted another personal-best on her way to the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Fair sprinted to a 56.19, taking third place in her heat.
- Ramsden punched another ticket to Eugene in style, as she broke her own school record in the 5,000m with a time of 15:29.06, placing third overall in the event.
- Junior Ella Gilson took center stage in the second heat of the 5,000m, posting a time of 16:26.73 to take 30th place.
- Harvard wrapped up the 2024 NCAA East Region First Round with the women's 4x400m relay, as the Crimson quartet advanced to the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships by placing third in the final heat with a time of 3:30.49.
