CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard track & field begins its championship season this weekend in the Garden State, traveling to Princeton, N.J. for the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. Both days of competition will air live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW:
  • At last season's outdoor Heps, the Crimson swept the competition, taking home the men's and women's team titles in Philadelphia last season.
  • The men are looking to win its 12th Ivy League title this weekend, as it would be the first time winning back-to-back titles since the 1969 and 1970 seasons.
  • On the women's side, Harvard is aiming for its seventh Ivy League team title in program history.
  • At the Penn Relays last weekend, the Crimson set a new national standard, as the women's distance medley relay team of first-year Sophia Gorriaran, juniors Chloe Fair, Victoria Bossong, and senior Maia Ramsden combined to set a new NCAA record in the event.
  • Ramsden, the defending NCAA Women's 1,500m National Champion, leads the national performance list in the 1,500m, as her time of 4:07.30 at the Wake Forest Invitational also set a new Ivy League record.
  • In the men's hammer throw, junior Kenneth Ikeji is enjoying a dominant 2024 campaign, taking first in every meet he's competed in this season. The 2023 NCAA Men's Hammer Throw National Champion, Ikeji's throw of 74.47m (244'4") from the Tiger Track Classic ranks sixth on the national performance list this season.
  • Two Crimson sit in the top-10 of the women's 800m national performance list. Bossong's time of 2:00.92 from the Pepsi Florida Relays has her in fourth place, while Gorriaran holds ninth after crossing the finish line at 2:01.60 at the Wake Forest Invitational.
  • Junior Izzy Goudros is ninth for the women's heptathlon, as her score of 5765 set a new meet record at the Duke Invitational.
