Men's Lightweight Rowing

Men's Lightweights Look to Continue Momentum into IRA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 1 Harvard men's lightweight rowing heads to Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. to take on the IRA championships. Coming off its first Eastern Sprints win in the varsity eight since 2013, the Crimson look to make its mark on the national stage this weekend.

Races will be streamed on the IRA official YouTube account. Races will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31st. Saturday and Sunday (June 1-2) will consist of the semi-final and final races respectively. 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Crimson varsity eight has stayed undefeated so far this season, winning  Eastern Sprints on Sunday (May 19). Harvard finished first by three full seconds, as Penn finished second. 
  • The last time Harvard won the IRA Championships was also in 2013. The Crimson finished second last year, trailing to only Princeton.
