EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of Crimson All-Americans produced excellent showings at Hayward Field on Sunday night, as Harvard track & field finished strong on the final day of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
The day began in the field, as first-year
Tito Alofe competed in the men's high jump final. On the opening height of 2.16m (7'1"), Alofe cleared the bar on his first attempt to stay alive in the competition. Alofe bowed out of the competition on the second height of 2.21m (7'3"), just one meter of tying his personal best. In August, Alofe will represent the United States at the World U20 Championships.
Junior
Graham Blanks represented the Crimson in the men's 5,000m final, looking to secure his spot in Paris. The reigning NCAA men's cross country national champion ran an excellent race, taking fourth place with a time of 13:12.61, breaking his own Ivy League process. Blanks' qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics depends on the release of tomorrow's world rankings.
The 2024 Paris Olympics begin on Wednesday, July 24, as track & field competition begins on Thursday, Aug. 1.
